Children, ages 3-5, who are found eligible for special education services, Colorado Preschool Program, or as a typical peer may be selected to attend our district's preschool program. 


Child Find Services

Enrollment Information

The Weld RE-4 School District offers developmental screenings for children ages 0-5 who reside within district boundaries. These screenings are held to provide developmental information to families, help determine eligibility for the Colorado Preschool Program, and/or identify preschoolers that may need further testing to determine if they require special education services. The screening includes a check of vision/hearing and assessment of developmental and speech/language skills.

The dates for the 2019-2020 school year are:

August 30, 2019
October 28, 2019
January 17, 2020
March 9, 2020

Even if you do not plan on having your child enter preschool,

 these screenings are open to any parent who would be interested in

 finding out their child’s developmental skills.

Tuition Preschool:
If you are interested in having your child attend one of our preschools through a tuition slot, please fill out the "Intent to Enroll" form below and return it to Andrea Larson at the District Office (1020 Main Street, Windsor) or send via email ( We have completed the initial lottery process for the 2019-2020 school year. Families who were not selected at this time, have been placed on a waitlist and will be offered a slot as openings become available. Slots are based on availability and placement in home school is not guaranteed.

Intent to Enroll Form

Tuition for the 2019-2020 school year is $2,925 per year divided into nine equal payments of $325 per month.  This is subject to change per board approval yearly.

General Preschool Informationpic

Preschool classrooms are located at Tozer Primary, Grandview Elementary, Range View Elementary and at Skyview Elementary. To be eligible, a child should be three (3) by August 15.

Preschool Schedule -- 
Classes meet Tuesday through Friday each week: 

8:05am - 11:05am for the morning session 
11:55am - 2:55pm for the afternoon session
11:50am - 2:50pm (afternoon session at Tozer)

We also have two-day a week classes for young three-year-olds receiving special education services or paying tuition.  These classes are available on Tuesdays & Thursdays or Wednesdays & Fridays from 8:05 - 11:05 and will be located at Tozer Primary School for the 2019-2020 school year.

Each class is staffed by a certified Early Childhood Special Education teacher and a para-professional.  We maintain an 1:8 teacher to child ratio in each class that has CPP students and a 1:10 ratio in our classrooms with tuition students and special education students only.  Our program is an integrated program and each class includes students who are receiving special education services, students who attend under the Colorado Preschool Program, and students whose families pay tuition. Each class has an opportunity to access the school library, participates in a large motor activities and group language activities daily. Speech/Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists and other related service personnel provide services to special needs students within the classrooms.

Curriculum: Children participate in a curriculum that offers rich experiences to help them develop their social, communication, cognitive, self help, fine and gross motor skills as well as opportunities that help support pre-readiness skills for Kindergarten.  We use nationally recognized Creative Curriculum GOLD widely regarded as a forward-thinking, comprehensive, rigorously researched curriculum approach that honors creativity and respects the role that teachers play in making learning exciting and relevant to every child as well as Preschool Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS), Hand Writing Without Tears, Second Steps and Zoophonics in each classroom.
